Hot Water

Well, I just can't let that grumpmaster 3000 post hold the top spot on my blog forever, so a quickie update here to smooth things over a little. Not that all the random health issues have been dealt with (I'm still on the health center's waitlist for an appointment since that post, arrrgh) but at least the immediate stuff has passed away enough so that I *can* enjoy the sunshine again. And my coffee, which might be more important.

Oh man, yeah, that first day that I could drink coffee again was SUCH A GOOD DAY. wooOOO! There's a reason caffeine is my favorite drug.

So, random updates for the sake of blog:

-we haven't had hot water in our house for a few days. We were given a key to an empty townhouse up the road to shower in, which was totally bizarre. The repairman just came and ruined my nap without knowing I was home. I hope he fixed it. The water pressure in that other place reaaaally sucks.

-I am doing an awesome fun project on biking and sense of place in santa cruz, which means I get to volunteer at the local bike coop, talk to people about bikes and biking, and go on rides with random folks, and call it all homework!

-the rugger I have mentioned before as a slippery slope of flirtation/mess has slippery sloped right into my bed once or twice now. Whoops! (Also, fun!) I think, though, that we are both doing a pretty good job of being as responsible as possible given the total ridiculousness of the situation, in terms of not hurting ourselves or others. I hope.

-I am sleepy all the time, and napping most days. There continues to be too much work to do, and not enough time to do it.

-I lost my phone, and am currently using a loaner on which the screen is backwards. It makes text messaging an interesting challenge.

-I got an awesome sticker that says "reading is sexy," and I love it and put it on my water bottle, but then sometimes I get self-conscious about it when it's out on the table and I'm either in class with much older profs or (moreso) teaching one of my undergrad sections. I don't need the kids thinking I'm sexy, or especially not thinking I *want* them to think that... not helpful.

-but teaching is fun. I likes.
